He’s heard the cries that Hip Hop is dead and studied those largely responsible for its massive decline. No longer a pupil, the student has now become the teacher and rap music will never be the same because “Hippy Hound” is the MC that will change the game. The definition of a hound is to pursue relentlessly or to urge insistently which is exactly what the young spitter has done in the Gulf Coast region of Mississippi. Hailing out of tiny Bay St. Louis, Mississippi Kentrell Nathaniel Bell aka “Hippy Hound” towers as the South’s most promising rap prospect in years. To huge of a compliment to pay a rapper the world has barely heard of maybe, but then again one need only look, listen, or merely observe the to die for heartthrob enter a room to know it’s been decades since either Hip Hop or any other genre of music has witnessed such a larger than life talent.

The sheer personification of a well rounded entertainer is most evident in “Hound’s” uncanny ability to connect with audiences of all ages, ethnicities, and social classes in a manner that few artists past or present have ever been blessed to do. Sadly, his unearthly ability to entertain came as a result of enduring a hellish upbringing one in which saw his mother abandoned him at age five, father sentenced to prison when he was just six, being adopted before age seven by a less than desirable guardian, spending years in court seeking suitable foster parents, and watching his father abuse drugs & go in and out of prison routinely.

Now factor in selling drugs at age 14 while virtually raising himself and one might wonder how the bi-racial “Hippy Hound” who was regularly picked on as a kid for being too light made it to become the burgening music sensation he is today and the answer is simple if you ask him…”Perseverance.” While his youth may have been filled with more lows than highs “Hippy Hound’s” extraordinary gift to play basketball made him the object of affection for several big time college programs. However, the need to provide himself food, transportation, and shelter made dealing drugs a surefire ends to a means ultimately derailing what appeared to be a brilliant basketball future. A born charmer whose mind blowing wordplay could easily rival a “Windy City” pimp earned his nickname of “Hippy Hound” by his father a longtime career gangster who went by the same moniker also.

The owner of a signature sound that proudly showcases an intoxicating high pitch voice coupled with heartfelt lyrics that challenges the mind and soothes the soul are the A-1 intangibles that have allowed “Hippy Hound” to perform with numerous iconic superstars like “Juvenile”, “T.I.”, “Ying Yang Twins”, “The Hot Boys”, “Lil Boosie”, “Lil Wayne”, “Bone Thugs N Harmony”, and the late great “Soulja Slim.” A household name throughout the Gulf Coast landscape for unleashing a brand of lyrical brilliance never before witnessed in the great state of Mississippi is thanks largely in part to his releasing of six classic mix tapes: “The KG’s Low Down & Dirty”, “Coming from Nothing”, “I am the Gulf Coast”, and “Mix Tape Shit” volumes 1-3.

With the buzz over his highly anticipated latest project entitled “Respect Salute” that will be almost entirely produced by hit making producer extraordinaire “Heartbeat” of “Pimp C”, “B.G.”, and “Rocko” fame at a fever’s pitch, it won’t be long before the hound is loose!!
